Muscle training on the SUP-Board

Triathlete Marvin Wagner is training his muscles on a CALA brand SUP board this summer. The 26-year-old professional firefighter was 40th in his age group at the “Ironman” triathlon in Mallorca this year and reports on sports, travel and lifestyle on his Instagram channel marvin_wagner. He currently shows his followers how he keeps fit by stand-up paddling. Both beginners and advanced SUP fans can have fun on the high-quality boards of the CALA brand. Marvin Wagner has been a triathlete since the age of 16, before that he played football in the district league. His biggest success so far was a half marathon in the Philippines in 2013, where he won his age group. He is currently enjoying his first summer with the inflatable SUP model “Ikatere” from CALA: “I used to think stand-up paddling was boring. Today I would laugh at anyone who said that,” he explains with a smile. “Because what looks like a bit of splashing around at first, challenges the whole body and provides toned muscles. Besides, you can also ride waves with the board, go on multi-day tours and really exhaust yourself through speed.” In addition to his new passion for stand-up paddling, Marvin Wagner is a triathlete at heart: “My dream is to complete a triathlon in Hawaii one day. Then I can take my inflatable CALA board there,” he adds with a wink.

Marvin’s “Ikatere” model was specially developed for endurance training and the open sea. The surface lies close to the water, the tip of the board sticks out and thus cuts the waves better. CALA was founded in 2015 out of the motivation to transport a SUP board comfortably in a bag without having to sacrifice top quality and resilience. The mats on the CALA boards are made of algae foam from the company Bloom. Whether on the sea, on lakes or in white water – CALA offers durable inflatable high-performance boards in eye-catching design with lightweight carbon paddles that can withstand any adventure, no matter how crazy.
