PSA business area: Motorservice adds rapid corona tests to its program

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has led to numerous restric­tions in the private sphere as well as in the workplace. On the one hand, regard­less of the respective incidence figures and case numbers, the continued development and targeted adminis­tration of vaccines offers a ray of hope in the midst of the pan­demic. On the other hand, improved, more reliable rapid tests for private and business use have been developed as a means of checking the uncontrolled spread of the virus. Rheinmetall AG subsidiary MS Motorservice International GmbH is now offering these through its PSA business unit.

Highly reliable and easy to administer, these tests are specifi­cally designed for professional use, e.g., for healthcare providers, compa­­ny test centers, and retirement homes. Furthermore, work is underway to offer self-tests for use in schools and daycare facilities.

Already available are the well-known smear tests that require a nasal and throat swab as well as new, so-called “spit tests”. The latter are particularly useful for screening personnel on a large scale, since all they require is a self-produced saliva sample with no need for specially trained personnel. The high-quality result is quickly available and can be reliably read.
