be.ENERGISED Implements OCPP 2.0.1 Open Charge Point Protocol

be.ENERGISED, the eMobility platform created by has·to·be, has implemented the OCPP 2.0.1 Open Charge Point Protocol in order to anticipate future requirements of the eMobility industry. Yet again, this underlines has·to·be’s position as a leading innovator in terms of industry standards. Furthermore, it reinforces the hardware independence of the be.ENERGISED operating system.

The Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP 2.0.1) has been implemented within be.ENERGISED since April 2020. Besides various enhancements in terms of manufacturer-independent communication between charging points and charging infrastructure management systems, be.ENERGISED customers can now profit – above all – from secure firmware updates, security protocols, and event notifications within the administration of a charging fleet. Encrypted TLS communication also raises security standards.

Update OCPP 2.0.1 Delivers New and Improved Functionality

New features include support for ISO 15118 with regard to the plug-and-charge and smart charging requirements of eCar drivers, for whom integrated and intelligent charging ensures a more effective charging experience. This experience is further enhanced by, for example, the on-display provision of information regarding tariffs and charges.

Charging infrastructure operators, in turn, benefit from enhanced device management and optimized transaction processing, which is especially beneficial for large charging parks with a high percentage of high-speed charge points.

Hardware Independent: be.ENERGISED Communicates Seamlessly with Every Charge Point

be.ENERGISED supports the independent, universal communication protocol OCPP 2.0.1, thus offering all users investment security when constructing and expanding charging infrastructure. Users of the be.ENERGISED administration software can effortlessly merge smaller charging networks into larger ones, as already existing units can remain in operation without monetary losses.

Futureproof: Defining and Developing Standards

At its location in Radstadt/Austria, has·to·be continuously advances new features with a large, international team of developers. The main priority is always the further development of be.ENERGISED. The efforts are not only driven by extensive experience gained from international projects and use cases, but also by the challenges posed by the eMobility industry. In an on-site test center, the company tests the practical viability of new be.ENERGISED features in a realistic environment. Daily deployments ensure a futureproof eMobility platform that is already compatible with OCPP 2.0.1 today.
