Plastics are indispensable in electrical and electronic applications. They perform a wide range of functions, from simply protecting the user from electric shock to providing functional components and visual appeal. The applications are just as diverse – from kitchen mixers to smartphones to the automotive industry, electronic components and their plastics are ubiquitous. As a result, there are highly specialized material compositions for each application. Constant new developments and adaptations make it necessary for experts to regularly exchange information on trends and new possibilities.
High speed development
The symposium offers experts just that: a forum for discussion and networking. The SKZ Symposium is held annually due to the rapid pace of development in the industry. This year, the industry will meet on May 14 and 15 at the Mainfränksäle in Veitshöchheim near Würzburg. Conference director Stefan Schierl from KraussMaffei Technologies GmbH will lead through an exciting program.
Expert presentations on various trend topics
Participants can look forward to expert presentations on the trend topics of digitalization, process technology, e-mobility and sustainability. A committee of experienced industry representatives from BASF, Clariant, Envalior, LyondellBasell, Miele and Weidmüller, together with the SKZ, has once again put together a program that will provide participants with ideas and impressions as a basis for discussion and innovation during the one and a half days.
"Exciting products created"
"For me, this conference is characterized by the lively discussions during the breaks and the well-attended exhibition. The innovative input from the presentations can be discussed in greater depth. Participants can also engage in discussions with the speakers outside of the presentations, and this exchange has already resulted in exciting projects that will be reported on at future conferences," says Andre Gstrein, Product Manager at SKZ.
The SKZ is climate protection company and a member of the Zuse Association. This is an association of independent, industry-related research institutions that pursue the goal of improving the performance and competitiveness of industry, especially SMEs, through innovation and networking.
