HOFFMANN MINERAL presents sustainable innovations at DKT 2024

HOFFMANN MINERAL focuses on transparency when it comes to sustainability

After the company presented life cycle analyses (LCA) for its products for the first time at the European Coating Show in March 2023 as part of its sustainability strategy, LCA for fillers in the production of elastomers will also play a central role at the DKT. In line with the DKT motto, this gives customers the opportunity to gain a reliable impression of the eco-balance of the versatile products and, for example, to assess their carbon footprint and include it in their decision-making.

The use of Neuburg Siliceous Earth as a natural mineral filler will be showcased in its capability of replacing other fillers such as carbon black. By partially or, under certain conditions, even completely replacing carbon black, the environmental balance of rubber products can be significantly improved while maintaining or even optimizing fundamental properties. Application examples can be found, among others, in the automotive industry.

Know-how transfer as a driver of innovation

Another focus of the company presentation will be the product group Tailored Filler Solutions. When developing very specific products, HOFFMANN MINERAL transfers the know-how acquired in the functionalisation of Neuburg Siliceous Earth to new base materials, such as the hollow glass microspheres from 3M. Products like these are characterized by improved physical properties that are optimised for the planned application and can, for example, contribute to reducing the weight of the end product.

See, experience, understand

The executives are looking forward to great interest in the traditional company and its proven and new solutions. They are also looking forward to professional exchanges with existing and new customers, prospects, and all industry colleagues. Sales staff and colleagues from application technology will be available at the booth to answer any questions. When designing the trade fair stand, the company places particular emphasis on giving visitors the opportunity to experience the products on offer and their possible applications. Visitors can therefore expect both informative and entertaining showpieces that are designed to make basic product features literally tangible.

A lecture is also planned for Thursday, 4th July 2024. Under the title "Various filler solutions for the future challenges of mobility", Nicole Holzmayr, Area Sales Manager at HOFFMANN MINERAL GmbH, will be giving a presentation in the Brussels hall from 11:30 a.m. on the topics of sustainability and environmental balance in the context of the company’s own products, describing their positive properties and possible applications in more detail.
