HEIDELBERG AMPERFIED and IE2S work on the development of an electric charging infrastructure for company car fleets

  • Strategic cooperation for the implementation of Smart Charging, installation and operation for fleet customers
  • Joint offer with the HEIDELBERG AMPERFIED Charging stations and fleet electrification solution from Intelligent Energy System Services planned

Amperfied GmbH, a subsidiary of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (HEIDELBERG), intends to further expand its range of charging infrastructure solutions and is planning a strategic cooperation with Intelligent Energy System Services GmbH (IE2S, Ludwigsburg) in the field of electromobility. The aim is to provide smart charging solutions for company car fleets. The service expertise of IE2S, a joint venture of MHP Management- und IT-Beratung GmbH (a Porsche company) and the transmission system operator TransnetBW (part of the EnBW Group), and the successful HEIDELBERG AMPERFIED charging stations (wallboxes and charging columns) will be used.

In the coming years, the share of battery-powered company cars will exceed the number of vehicles with combustion engines. Companies with company car fleets are therefore increasingly looking at switching their fleets to electric cars. To this end, they are primarily looking for advice on the electrification of their fleets, including on-site implementation. One of the prerequisites for a conversion to battery-electric vehicles is that there are solutions for controlling the charging power of the fleet vehicles, e. g. according to generation and consumption. With an integrated control system, it is

possible to reduce grid connection costs and power prices, among other things. Further potential can also be exploited by integrating electricity generators and storage systems.

HEIDELBERG AMPERFIED and IE2S now want to jointly present a fully comprehensive offer for fleet electrification, from initial planning to installation and maintenance. In addition, a comprehensive service covering all aspects of full operation is to be developed. As a first step, both companies will define an overall package for efficient fleet management and then tackle joint projects. The focus will be on small and medium-sized companies that are setting up or expanding an electric fleet.
