Over €700,000 from E.ON employees for people from Ukraine

Christian Reuter, Secretary General of the German Red Cross: “We would like to express our sincere thanks to all employees of E.ON SE and the company for their generous support in the amount of €716,723. The aid will benefit the people directly in Ukraine, but also the refugees in neighboring countries and in Germany. So far, more than six million people have fled the country, mostly women and children as well as the elderly. This is the biggest humanitarian disaster in Europe since the end of the Second World War. This makes us all the more appreciative of E.ON’s commitment."

E.ON Board Member Victoria Ossadnik coordinates all of the company’s relief efforts, saying, "The solidarity and helpfulness for the people in and from Ukraine that I have experienced in all parts of E.ON and that we also see in this fundraising campaign makes me very proud. I would like to thank everyone who donated. We experience the hardship caused by the war very closely in our company: the colleagues at our subsidiaries in Poland, Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary see the terrible humanitarian effects of this inconceivable war from close proximity to Ukraine every day. Therefore, it was not only natural for us to help on site ourselves, but also to support the DRK’s aid with donations."

On the ground, E.ON has, among other things, built energy infrastructure for refugee shelters on the Romanian border with Ukraine, provided accommodation for refugees in the Czech Republic, and procured and delivered beds and other hospital equipment. The Essen University Medical Foundation received a further €200,000 for the delivery of medicines to Ukraine.
