A substitute for petrol and diesel generators: ecocoach launches mobile electricity storage unit

The Swiss tech company ecocoach AG aims to make temporary power supplies more sustainable. To achieve this, the company is launching a mobile battery storage unit in trolley form. Themobile energy storage unit provides devices with up to 11 kilowatts of continuous domestic and three-phase power. This makes it possible to simply replace many conventional generators.

ecocoach AG’s product portfolio has been available in the building sector in Switzerland and neighbouring countries for several years. It provides stationary energy storage and energy management systems, among other solutions. Now, for the first time, the company is rolling out equipment for construction sites and other fields of application. In doing so, it aims to replace high-maintenance and high-consumption petrol and diesel generators. These cause substantial amounts of noise and pollutant emissions during everyday work. The ecoPowerTrolley from ecocoach is a mobile power supply for construction sites, events and professional use that solves the problems posed by generators.

No pollutant or noise emissions and reduced costs

The trolley-style power storage unit is equipped with a lithium-ion battery. It provides power tovarious appliances and devices with CEE16 plugs and 400 volts as well as CEE7 plugs with 230 volts. The storage unit thus serves as a mobile companion for professionals in the fields of construction, handicraft, event technology, security, and rescue. It has protection against dust and water spray for outdoor use. The transportable storage unit doesn’t cause any noise or pollutant emissions during operation. This protects the environment while at the same time reducing the burden on users, unlike conventional generators. Since it doesn’t require any fuel or lubricant and has fewer moving parts, variable operating costs are reduced. The life cycle costs of the trolley are consequently lower than those of generators when considered as a whole.

Lightest three-phase unit on the market

"Though the first mobile storage providers are already on the market, the ecoPowerTrolley is unique on account of its performance features," explains Vera Trutmann, the product manager in charge at ecocoach. A comparison withthe market shows that the variety of connections and the capacity are greater than those of single-phase products. Three-phase current is used to supply power-intensive devices. The trolley features a high energy density for mobile three-phase storage. Asa result, the unit is mainly aimed at professional users who regularly use the storage unit."Many public and private companies will be replacing their power generators now or in the near future. We have developed the ecoPowerTrolley as a solution that meets climate targets and professional requirements," says Trutmann. Deliveries of the first series units will begin in the fourth quarter of 2022. ecocoach is now accepting orders.
