Fears that prices could rise even further driven by Russia’s invasion and fueling inflation are driving investors into gold as a safe haven. This can be seen, among other things, in the strong inflows into gold ETFs. Of course, this immediately raises the question of whether the Fed will raise interest rates in this time of geopolitical problems. Because in such an environment, it does not like to do so. According to Fed Chairman Powell, interest rate hikes are to go ahead as planned, but whether this will actually happen remains to be seen. Instead of paper money, precious metals are now in demand among investors. Confidence in paper currencies, in governments and in politics is at risk.
Germany’s dependence on Russian raw materials is making itself painfully felt. The price of gasoline has reached a new high, and that may not be the end of the story. Of the gas consumed in this country, 55 percent comes from Russia and every second home is heated with gas. The prospects are not good if Russia turns off the gas tap. If the war between Russia and Ukraine drags on for a longer period of time, a further rise in the price of gold would also be a possible consequence. From a chart perspective, gold had a resistance at 1,980 U.S. dollars, which has now been exceeded. Well, who is already invested in gold physical or in gold shares. Who still wants to look around, can take a look at the values of Ximen Mining and Vizsla Silver, for example.
