“Wiebke Zimmer represents a superb addition to our team,” says Christian Hochfeld, Director of Agora Verkehrswende. “Over the last twenty years she has established a strong reputation across Germany as a leading expert on climate policy in the transport sector. Thanks to her considerable knowledge and experience in research and policy advising, she is sure to make a decisive contribution to our work during this crucial phase in the transition to climate neutral transport. I am very much looking forward to our work together. We wish Günter Hörmandinger the best of luck in his new role at the European Commission. In his leadership role at Agora Verkehrswende, he crucially shaped our work on European regulation and policy. We are extremely grateful for his contributions and service.”
Agora Verkehrswende is a joint initiative of Stiftung Mercator and the European Climate Foundation. The Berlin-based think tank develops evidence-based and politically viable strategies for ensuring the success of the clean-energy transition in transport. By promoting dialog between actors in the domains of politics, business, academia, and civil society, Agora Verkehrswende develops transformation strategies primarily for land-based passenger and freight transport in Germany, yet European and international contexts are also considered. Agora Verkehrswende was founded in 2016. For additional information, please visit www.agora-verkehrswende.de/en/.
