In order to successfully meet the demands of new trends, existing products are continuously being redeveloped and new products are created. In addition to the development of products, the continuous improvement of processing procedures also plays a key role, particularly with regard to economically advantageous system solutions. Newly balanced property profiles for fluoropolymers and the development of new compounds and material composites are creating material properties that were considered impossible until recently. All these innovations must be made in compliance with complex regulatory frameworks, and sustainability in resource utilization, as well as end of life cycle recycling.
Focus on new applications
The international SKZ symposium "Innovations using Fluoropolymers" on June 24th and 25th, 2021, chaired by Dr. Michael Schlipf of FPS GmbH, will present existing and new materials and their applications. The focus will be on new applications, especially in the field of innovative drive concepts and regenerative energies. As well as on the chemical industry, biotechnology and the pharmaceutical industry and the electronics/semiconductor industry. Recent megatrends such as the changes in mobility and energy storage, require innovative system solutions – through fluoropolymers. Current presentations by international speakers will include how we can use biology to create new products, how the EU PFAS regulation might affect fluoroplastics, and how new PTFE compounds are evolving to meet changing automotive requirements. Speakers from Europe, the U.S., as well as from China, will provide a global overview of current trends in fluoropolymer activity.
This year’s event will be held as a hybrid event in a marquee in Würzburg. It is also possible to follow the presentations virtually via live stream.
