When a user is pipetting at maximum speed, the EBS switch at the back of the electronic pipette controller allows them to instantaneously slow down to the lowest speed setting. This smooth, sudden reduction in the operating speed of the motorized pipette controller gives fine volume control, maximizing pipetting accuracy. Tapping the EBS switch again allows the operator to instantly return to the last speed setting of the CAPPTempo electronic pipette controller.

The CAPPTempo motorized pipette controller has six speed settings for aspiration and dispensing. This gives the operator full control of the liquid transfer process, unlike manual serological pipette controllers that require great motor skills and years of practice to achieve a similar level of control.
