AISCI Ident and Arvato Systems Enter into a Partnership to Streamline Logistics and Warehousing Processes

  • Arvato Systems continues development of platbricks
  • Device expertise meets Smart Logistics Platform

AISCI Ident GmbH and Arvato Systems are working together to make processes in logistics and warehousing more streamlined and even smarter, such as when it comes to order picking. platbricks, a logistics platform developed by Arvato Systems, provides intelligent software that enables companies to digitalize activities that add less value, for example, working with lists on paper. AISCI Ident GmbH supplies the corresponding mobile computers with scanning functions for the platform. In this manner, the partners bundle their relevant expertise and can offer their joint clients a customized and proven end-to-end solution.

Arvato Systems has developed platbricks, a digital modular system that can be used to orchestrate departmental and company-wide logistics processes. Ideally complementing platbricks are the core competencies of AISCI Ident with its optimal solution for scanning barcodes, 2D codes, and RFID as well as systems for industrial image processing. “Together with AISCI Ident, we are able to offer clients a solution they can start using straight out of the box,” states Bernd Jaschinski-Schürmann, Head of Digital Supply Chain Management at Arvato Systems.

Specialists combine Smart Logistics Platform with automatic identification systems

This means that platbricks clients have two specialists at their disposal whose relevant expertise complement each other and that work closely together. “Companies can use platbricks and the optimized hardware to increase their productivity, which is particularly interesting when you also consider the shortage of skilled workers,” says Rafael Schönhagen, sales manager for end users at AISCI Ident GmbH. “We are proactive in sharing our knowledge, we bring new devices into the field depending on the application, and we provide systems that are tailored to the respective situation,” Schönhagen continues.

One example of the partnership between Arvato Systems and AISCI Ident is the common order picking process in an SME. “Many companies process orders, either for production or for customers, that have to be picked according to order,” explains Bernd Jaschinski-Schürmann. “Employees scan the storage location and the components and platbricks will guide them through the entire picking process.” Companies can cut out paper lists when they implement platbricks, for example, thus eliminating a possible source of error and accelerating processes, which eventually translates into saved time. Jaschinski-Schürmann continues: “platbricks enables our clients from retail business and industry as well as logistics service providers to have a complete and seamlessly integrated digitalization of their logistics processes. This includes a warehouse management system in the cloud as well as a comprehensive logistics app store, with which all logistics processes can be processed digitally using smart mobile devices.”

However, the hardware also plays a key role for the hands-on experience. Companies need other mobile systems for automatic identification depending on the location and situation in the onsite warehouse. AISCI Ident GmbH has been in business since 1995 and has gained extensive experience in understanding which mobile computer would offer the most straightforward solution in which situation, while providing the best results. This good overview of the market helps to find the right system in the shortest time.

A broad range of experience in programming and configuring Android

AISCI Ident also has extensive expertise in programming and configuring the widely used Android operating system, which is now used by the majority of mobile computers.

A further bonus for potential clients: The partners offer interested companies a test phase. “Anyone interested in the solution can test different devices in their environment under real-world conditions,” explains Jaschinski-Schürmann. “This way, they minimize the risk and promote the system with employees at the same time. With its outstanding expertise, AISCI Ident GmbH is an ideal partner for us to make this work. We look forward to many joint projects!”
