The topic of Artificial Intelligence is penetrating more and more areas of music: As part of the Eurovision Song Contest the Dutch broadcaster VPRO announced a competition to write a Eurovision hit using A.I. Composer Janne Spijkervet and her team landed on the podium. The Dutchwoman, who began to study classical- and jazz composition at the age of 14, later moved on to research the use of A.I. in music at the University of Amsterdam. In the workshop “Composing for Film with Artificial Intelligence” she will teach hands-on how to use the latest A.I. technology in the creative workflow when writing music for film. Participants will work on new ideas and scores using the Orb Composer Suite program.
The workshop is organized by the Swiss foundation FOCAL. Its goal is to develop and promote the creative, technical and entrepreneurial skills of professionals in the fields of film, audiovisual and new media. FOCAL director Rachel Schmid: "I am very glad that we are organizing this exciting workshop on a highly topical subject in the course of the first edition of SoundTrack_Zurich. In the future, Artificial Intelligence will play an increasingly important role in the creative process.”
The workshop is free for all accredited participants of SoundTrack_Zurich, however, a separate registration is necessary under: https://www.soundtrackzurich.com/ai-tools-workshop/. The attendance is limited to 16 active participants and five observers.
SoundTrack_Zurich is part of the Industry Programme of the 16th Zurich Film Festival.
