New solar park with 101 MWp under construction in the Netherlands

Completion planned for autumn 2020

As with the Midden-Groningen solar park, Chint Solar is also relying on Goldbeck Solar’s experience for its next project, which will once again act as general contractor for the group. The new solar park is to be built on an area of more than 100 hectares near Groningen and will ultimately have an installed capacity of 101 MWp. In this project Astronergy mono Perc half cut modules with 410 Watt are used.

As with the Midden-Groningen solar park, Goldbeck Solar once again relies on Greencells as a cooperation partner to successfully implement this ambitious project. The groundbreaking ceremony marked in March the start of the solar park, which is scheduled to be completed and connected to the grid within eight months. To ensure smooth operations, it is above all necessary to coordinate numerous trades to enable the grid connection in October. On the grid connection side, Chint Solar is therefore again relying on cooperation with ABB.

Green energy for at least 50,000 households

After successful completion in autumn 2020, Staadskanaal, together with Buinerveen, will have a total capacity of 146 MWp. This makes the project the largest in the BeNeLux countries with a direct connection point to the TenneT high-voltage grid. Once the solar park is officially opened, it will supply at least 50,000 households in the Netherlands with green energy. In this way, annual CO₂ emissions can be reduced by 60,000 tons.
